The new concert series of the Festa dos Mundos «SUSEIA et ULTREIA. Todos os pobos, linguas e tribos» will bring five internationally renowned artists to Galicia in 2023. The singer-songwriter from El Bierzo, Amancio Prada, was in charge of inaugurating in Ourense this project, designed to establish a bridge between the celebration of the past and the next year Xacobeo, sponsor of the series. The line-up also includes the Portuguese Ana Moura, the Argentinian La Yegros and the American Leyla McCalla, as well as the Ukrainian band DakhaBrakha, as a sign of solidarity and support for the people of that country from Galicia.
The concert series emphasizes the recognition of those people who came to Santiago de Compostela in these last two years of celebration, with music representative of some of the territories that attracted more visitors to Galicia. The aim is to celebrate diversity as an engine of creation, tolerance and mutual recognition between cultures on the Way of St. James.
The city councils of A Coruña, Vigo, Santiago and Ferrol, which collaborate in this series, will host the next concerts, for which tickets are already on sale to see DakhaBrakha, on January 20th at the Teatro Colón in A Coruña, and Ana Moura, on February 24th at the Auditorio Mar de Vigo.
DAKHABRAKHA

The unclassifiable folk-punk quartet from Kiev, refugee by war, brings to A Coruña its fascinating «ethno-chaos» in one of the only two concerts planned in Spain this 2023 of the most famous Ukrainian band. Their music is different from everything that exists, it is a trance of astonishing beauty, decidedly free and committed, with which they have visited festivals as prestigious as Glastonbury, Bonaroo or Transmusicales.
ANA MOURA

The famous fado singer who is reviving the «Portuguese blues» with rhythms such as kizomba, samba or trap, who sang with Prince, the Rolling Stones or Caetano Veloso, arrives in Vigo with Casa Guilhermina, her new album that she presents for the first time in Spain. Freedom, creativity and a vision in which tradition and the timeless soul of fado go hand in hand with modernity, are the keys to the new work of the Portuguese artist.

LA YEGROS

The Argentine queen of cumbia brings to Compostela’s Sala Capitol her mix of South American folklore with avant-garde rhythms in one of the concerts planned for the tenth anniversary tour of Viene de mí, the album that put her in the spotlight. La Yegros will offer her talent, wit and charisma in a retrospective performance in which she will perform new versions of her best-known songs.
LEYLA MCCALLA

Captivating music, with rich, sophisticated melodic work and intoxicating Afro-Caribbean rhythms, coupled with the juxtaposition of voices – English and Kreyòl, personal and political, anecdotal and journalistic – are the fascinating legacy of this American with deep Haitian roots. Breaking the thermometer (2022) is her personal reckoning with memory and identity, and one of the albums chosen last year among her favorites by former President Barak Obama.
